      Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American actress and singer best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She subsequently ventured into feature films and has starred in the television movies Another Cinderella Story, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, and Princess Protection Program, Ramona and Beezus and Monte Carlo. Her career has expanded into the music industry; Gomez is the lead singer and founder of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which has released three RIAA Gold certified studio albums, Kiss & Tell and A Year Without Rain and When The Sun Goes Down. She spawned three RIAA Platinum certified singles, "Naturally", "Who Says" and "Love You Like a Love Song".As of April 2011, the band has sold 1,354,000 albums in the United States.Gomez has also contributed to the soundtracks of Tinker Bell, Another Cinderella Story, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Shake It Up after signing a record deal with Hollywood Records. In 2008, Gomez was designated a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.



        Selena is currently filming a movie with Vanessa Hudgens which is called Spring Breakers.

        Selena Gomez is loving her latest stint as a perfumer.

        The teen star — who’s currently dating Justin Bieber — recently debuted her namesake first fragrance, Selena Gomez, in NYC — a labor of love she dedicates to her fans, who actually participated in creating the scent.

        “I’ve always wanted to ever since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had their little body sprays that I was obsessed with,” explains Selena of her decision to take on the fragrance world.

        “But my fans were really my inspiration behind it… I just had to wait for the right time because I wanted to create something that could really stand on its own.

        “It’s very romantic, very sensual… but it’s fun and beautiful at the same time. I wanted it to look like I was swimming in the fragrance.”
